Renewed is not a feature and it is not a fault. It is a statement about the condition of the thing being sold, made by the seller under the terms of their own program.
A renewed listing can describe the same platform, the same remote and the same formats as a new listing, because in most respects it is the same device. The word is the only part of the listing that is different, which is exactly why it is easy to miss.
This site prints the word on the card, in the comparison table, in the tool options and in the prose. Not as a warning, but because a buyer deserves to know which kind of thing they are ordering.
